Can I easily be in contact with my family and friends back home?
Yes, there are everywhere enough internet and phone facilities available.

How is the safety in Cambodia?
Cambodia is safe, if you act normal and think normal. Use some common sense and you will be fine.

What kind of money do they have in Cambodia?
Cambodia pays with RIEL and Dollars. 4000 riel = 1 dollar. You can always pay with dollars, when you go to the ATM you always get only dollars.

Can I get money everywhere in Cambodia ?
In the big cities and all places around SOID Projects you can find ATM’s and banks everywhere.

Do I need a visa?
Yes you do need a visa, You can get a visa at the airport of Siem Reap or Phnom Penh when you are arriving in Cambodia. The cost for a tourist visa is 20 USD and the cost of a business visa is 25 USD.

Is there accompaniment in Cambodia?
Yes you are the most welcomed and warm greeting by coordinator. You can always be in touch with our coordinator. Most of the time he or she works also within the project.

Who can I contact when i am having problems in Cambodia?
You can always be in contact with your project coordinator in your own town.

Is it possible to see more of Cambodia while I am volunteering?
Yes, you work 5 days a week, so you have Saturday and Sunday holiday. If you are a weekend of you can for instance even take a field trip ! you are free to travel wherever you want, as long as you are back on your work on Monday.

Will I be picked up from the airport or bus station in Cambodia?
Yes, When you arrive in Cambodia, You will be picked up by somebody from the project that you will be involved in. He or she will bring you to your accommodation.

Can I help SOID in my country as a volunteer?
We are always looking for people that want to help SOID in their own country. There is so much to do, think about setting up sponsorships, arranging fundraisings, helping on fairs and spreading the word.

I would like to do my internship within one of the SOID project, is that possible?
An internship within SOID is a great opportunity to explore your changes and do some field work. We are very pleased to have you as an intern. Please contact SOID for the possibilities. If you have any other questions please contact SOID and we can give you all the answers.
