About us

SOID The Veal Village school of SOID cares for 150 children from the nearby Veal village, a very poor slum between Siem Reap and the Ankor Wat temples. Education is free. The school is only a few km away from the temple complex. Tourism provides 90% of the available jobs, and for a large part of these jobs the English language is required. For the best jobs you even require a very good knowledge of the English language. That is why the Veal Village School spends most of their time on educating the English language.

Education fund

SOID does not offer secondary education itself, but started with an Education Fund to enable talented children to continue their studies at the state school. Before we enroll a new child in secondary education, we make sure we provide sufficient funds so that he / she will be able to finish their studies.

The total operating costs of SOID are about Euro 4,200 per month. All this money comes from donations, fundraising campaigns and project grants from aid organizations. You immediately understand that your donations are very welcome. We are very grateful for your financial support. Both for the daily operation of our school and for some specific projects. You can receive a tax certificate for your donation in Belgium. Donations to SOID Netherlands are tax- deductible under the applicable conditions.
